HEAT Check Gaming Announces Offseason Protections

MIAMI – HEAT Check Gaming announced Monday that the team will protect the following players from the third NBA 2K League Season:
- Juan “Hotshot” Gonzalez, #24 from Miami, FL.
- Abdafatah “TBShiftay” Noman, #11 from Detroit, MI.
- Demar “Deedz” Butler, #34 from Spotsylvania, VA

Three-year veteran with HEAT Check Gaming, Hotshot was the first-ever draft pick for the team. He was instrumental in leading HEAT Check Gaming to the 2018 NBA 2K League Finals, for which he was named a 2019 NBA 2K League MVP Runner Up. In Season 3, Hotshot averaged 14.7 points, 13.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.

TBShiftay was the 13th overall pick in the 2020 NBA 2K League Draft. He averaged 12.2 points, 2.2 assists and 2.8 steals per game. He was named Top 5 in steals per game in 2019.

Deedz was originally drafted in 2018 with the third pick of the third round by Jazz Gaming and retained in 2019 by Jazz Gaming. In 2020, he was drafted with the seventh pick of the third round by HEAT Check Gaming. He averaged 5.0 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.
