HEAT Check Gaming Fall Short In Week 6

Thursday: HEAT Check Gaming (4-4) 63, Celtics Crossover Gaming (2-5) 86

Famous Enough’s first week back in action since recovering from Pneumonia didn’t quite go how he would have hoped. HEAT Check Gaming took a tough hit Week 6, dropping their doubleheader against Celtics Crossover Gaming and 76ers GC to fall to 4-5 in regular season play.

Boston exited Wednesday reeling from a 56-48 loss to Blazer5 Gaming, but turned that around against Famous Enough and the squad 86-63 the following night.

HEAT Check kept things close through halftime, trailing 34-30. However, a nine-point third quarter was too little to keep up with Boston, led by oFAB’s 36-point, 13-assist outburst. Miami was outscored 52-33 in the second half.

24K DropOff carried the scoring load this game, earning a team-high 19 points to go with five rebounds. Meanwhile, Hotshot tallied 12 points, 15 rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Though Miami out-rebounded Boston 22-19, Celtics Crossover dished out seven more assists than HEAT Check, and also managed five more steals.

Though each team took 50 field goal attempts, Boston shot 14-of-24 from three-point range, while Miami went 8-of-20.

Friday: 76ers GC (5-3) 60, HEAT Check Gaming (4-5) 59

Back in season one of the NBA 2K League, HEAT Check Gaming earned their regular season victory over Knicks Gaming on a game-winner along the right baseline. Friday night’s crushing 60-59 loss against 76ers GC ended against Miami in an all-too-similar fashion.

In a game that went back and forth nearly the entire way through, Hood shot a late three that gave HEAT Check a 59-58 lead heading into the final possession. Miami’s defense, which held Philadelphia to 23-of-47 shooting on the night, forced a 76ers GC timeout with 3.3 seconds remaining.

BreadWinnerLA began the final possession with an inbound pass to Radiant along the perimeter. As time was about to expire in regulation, the 76ersGC Point Guard hit Newdini off a backdoor cut along the left baseline for a last-second layup that would seal the game for Philadelphia and leave Miami outside of the top-eight in the League standings for the first time this season.

Radiant led all scorers with 21 points to go along with nine assists and two steals on the night.

For HEAT Check, 24K DropOff led in scoring for the second consecutive game, this time dropping 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting, including this wild four-point play:

Hotshot had himself another well-rounded performance with 13 points, 18 rebounds five assists and four steals while Hood earned his first double-double as a HEAT Check with 10 points and 11 assists.

Week 7 for Miami is a BYE Week, so the next time the squad will hit the sticks is Week 8 for a Thursday, June 6 matchup at 6 PM ET against Magic Gaming and then Friday, June 7 at 9 PM ET against Jazz Gaming.
