HEAT Check Gaming Fall to Bucks GG in Week 2

Famous Enough and his squad had high hopes heading into Thursday evening’s match to continue their unbeaten streak against a Bucks Gaming squad they’ve faced, and defeated, once before in the TIP OFF Tournament.

Well, things don’t always quite work out how you’d like them to.

Despite finding their scoring touch later in the game, HEAT Check Gaming could not overcome an early deficit and dropped the front end of their Week 2 doubleheader 80-57.

“They played great,” said the Coach following the match. “Our focus going into the game was obviously the person who was leading the league in scoring, ARooks. We wanted to slow him down, but in the same sense, there’s four other guys on the court. We left them open, and it got out of hand.”

One of the bigger storylines from this game had to do with the friendship between Miami rookie Lotty and Arooks – the two grew up together in Mt. Vernon, NY for 16 years before facing off against each other for the first (and second) time in the NBA 2K League this year. Lotty was able to mostly contain the hottest scorer in the league for the night, but this time his best friend evened the score.

“That’s my brother for the last 16 years, he’s been my best friend since I moved to Mt. Vernon when I was nine years old,” said Lotty. “I wanted that 2-0 to have bragging rights, but its 1-1. I got one, now he got one.”

While Miami’s pure lockdown defender was able to contain his friend to 17 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field, it was the Bucks Gaming frontcourt that came through and carried them to victory.

Milwaukee’s rookie Center Plondo nearly recorded the first triple-double of the season, with 17 points, 19 rebounds, and eight assists, while BigMeek shot 6-of-11 from three-point range to score a game-high 27 points.

Hotshot led the way for Miami, scoring a team-high 20 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the field to go with 12 rebounds, four assists and two steals, while JMoneyRep817 broke an early cold spell to finish the game with 13 points, five assists and two steals.
